New Music: Francis Adetokunbo aka Ofili – Shekosi (Official Music Video)

Little is known about Francis Adetokunbo aka Ofili, the eldest brother to NBA superstar Giannis Antetokumpo. I tried to find more information on Francis through searching the internet however all I could find was an article from sportscasting.com that mainly focused on the rest of the Antetokounbros. Luckily, since Francis and the fam are all Nigerian and of the Yoruba Tribe like myself. I have been following him and watching him along via his instagram page for quite some time now.

With over fifty-five thousand instagram followers Francis Adetokunbo has amassed quite the following while seemingly being himself and enjoying the benefits of new found family wealth. Personally, I think the Antetokuompo (Adetokunbo) family may be one of Nigeria’s greatest exports to the world. Not even Aliko Dangote himself could have produced such a quality product for mass consumption such as the combined talents of the children that Veronica and the late Charles Adetokunbo have produced.

With the rest of the clan making their names known throughout the world through their athletic prowess and dominance on the basketball courts. The eldest brother to them all has decided to take his talents in the other direction by signing to Def Jam Greece and releasing his debut Afrobeat single “Shekosi”. He recently posted “Embrace Your Dream” as a caption under a posted image on instagram. Being that Ofili has taken his talents for music straight to the top with signing to a major with no stops in between. He has definitely embraced the moment and embraced his dreams.

Embrace your Dreams!#SHEKOSI

“Shekosi”, which loosely translated means “Hope no problems” in the Yoruba language is an upbeat Afrobeat club banger. The jam has the same “Shaku Shaku” vibes as many of the latest Nigerian street jams. With some of the same feels that Davido, Zlatan Ibile, Olamide and Slimcase deliver with their music. I can see Ofili taking his dreams even further. Besides, it seems that all the Antetokounbros can do is when. Why would I expect the eldest to do anything less?
