It’s time to kick off the third annual Adebisi Winter Coat Drive!
This year our efforts will be going to benefit the families of The Asha Project. The Asha Project is a small non profit org located directly in Milwaukee’s inner city that services single mothers and families facing domestic violence situations by providing essential resources.
Due to Covid-19 concerns we will be asking that all coats and items donated this year be brand new items and that they should be dropped off or mailed to the address of The Asha Project.
For the past two years we have been able to keep Adebisi Oluwabodunde Agoro’s memory alive while providing the gift of warmth to many of the less privileged children living in Milwaukee’s oppressed inner city conditions. With your support hundreds of coats and other winter items have gone out to the children who needed it most. This year we need your support more than ever. With the rapid loss of jobs, resources, housing and school structure the less privileged children are in more need than ever before.
As well as accepting new coats and other winter items for children and families we will be setting up a gofundme page to benefit those who are serviced through The Asha Project. We hope that you can open your hearts to help provide the gifts of warmth and stability to children across Milwaukee’s inner city this giving season.
The mission of The Asha Project is to help survivors empower themselves. The Asha Project seeks to provide culturally specific programming for the complex issues of domestic violence, sexual abuse and sex trafficking. This complexity is often compounded by problems along racial lines, historical trauma, discrimination, a lack of access to services in the community, and providers’ inadequate cultural knowledge of daily issues for victims of abuse residing in the community.
